Emergency Plans
Humanitarian Assistance Centre PlanThe purpose of a Humanitarian Assistance Centre is to act as a focal point (one stop shop) for information and assistance to families and friends of those missing, injured or killed and to survivors to all those directly affected by an emergency or major incident. The aim is to have a seamless multi-agency approach to a whole range of assistance. Such a centre is likely to be set up within two to three days of an emergency or major incident. This plan is the agreed procedure for establishing and operating a Humanitarian Assistance Centre (HAC) in Nottingham or Nottinghamshire. It has been produced by the Humanitarian Assistance Centre Steering Group consisting of representatives from local authorities, emergency services, health and voluntary organisations. It forms part of the integrated emergency management process and supports the responsibilities of the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Local Resilience Forum (LRF).
